Yermak: 16 more Ukrainian children successfully brought back home
Kyiv, September 17 (Hibya) – Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced that 16 more Ukrainian children have been rescued from temporarily occupied territories.
Yermak stated that under Zelensky’s “Bring Back the Children” initiative, 16 more Ukrainian children were freed from temporarily occupied territories.
He said that a 15-year-old girl fled with her aunt after the Russians sentenced her parents and brother to long prison terms on fabricated charges. Yermak also shared details about other children:
“A 14-year-old girl and her 7-year-old sister lost their home and all belongings after a fire. A 15-year-old girl and her family hardly left their house for three years out of fear that occupiers might come to take the children. A 10-year-old boy was nearly taken from his family by the occupiers’ so-called ‘child protection service.’”
Yermak stressed that all the children are now safe in Ukraine and receiving psychological support: “The children are renewing their documents and taking their first steps toward a new, peaceful life.”
