Yermak: U.S. increases sanctions pressure
Kyiv, August 1 (Hibya) – Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that the United States is increasing its sanctions pressure on Iran and its network of drone technology suppliers involved in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Yermak announced that the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) imposed sanctions on July 31 against five companies and one individual originating from Iran, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China.
He emphasized that all of these sanctions are related to the supply of technology and equipment to the Iranian drone manufacturer HESA, which produces Ababil and Shahed drones for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
“This is another strong step by the U.S. to weaken Iran’s defense sector and prevent the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Ukraine values such decisive actions by its allies. We thank U.S. President Donald Trump for exerting pressure on the enemies of democracy.”
