In a statement on her social media account, Zakharova said that Wadephul had requested a meeting with Lavrov.

Zakharova alleged that, as part of the meeting request, the German delegation had asked for media access to be restricted, for no questions to be asked, for the opening remarks not to be audio-recorded, and for an embargo to be imposed on the publication of materials related to the meeting. She also commented on these conditions.

Zakharova noted that Lavrov had held numerous meetings during the United Nations General Assembly and criticized Western countries in her statement regarding Germany’s request for a meeting.
