Zelensky: Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly 90 drones
Kyiv, September 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia carried out drone attacks across the country overnight.
It was reported that about 90 attack drones were used in the strikes, most of which were intercepted by Ukraine’s air defense units.
Zelensky said that Donetsk, Kyiv and the capital’s city center, as well as the Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipro regions, were targeted. The attacks hit Ukraine’s infrastructure and various industrial facilities. In the city of Pavlohrad in the Dnipro region, two people were injured, while in the capital Kyiv, public transport infrastructure was damaged and repair works are ongoing.
Zelensky stressed that the attacks occurred at a time when global calls for peace are rising, saying: “The whole world – especially the United States – is calling for peace, while Russia continues to strike civilians.”
Finally, Zelensky thanked the air defense forces and all individuals and institutions supporting Ukraine.
