Zelensky: Russia is not capable of producing weapons on its own
Kyiv, January 20 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that following Russia’s recent missile attacks, the priorities are strengthening air defense and the recovery process, calling on the international community for support.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reviewed reports from representatives working in the United States and diplomats currently in Davos.
Referring to the consequences of Russian attacks and the priorities, Zelensky said: “Our Ukrainian delegation, our representatives who in recent days have been working in the United States together with the team of the U.S. President, and our diplomats currently in Davos have presented their reports. Today’s Russian attack and its consequences clearly show the priorities: first and foremost, strengthening our air defense, recovery after the attacks, and real coordination on the ground and with partners.”
Speaking about Russia’s missile production capacity and sanctions, Zelensky stated: “This year, a significant number of Russian ballistic missiles and cruise missiles were produced. This means that Russia, unfortunately, has ways to circumvent global sanctions and obtain the critical components required to produce such missiles. Russia is not capable of independently producing the weapons it uses against Ukraine, against our energy infrastructure, and to threaten other countries.”
Emphasizing the impact of the attacks on energy infrastructure, Zelensky added: “Large-scale power outages are occurring in Kyiv and many other cities and settlements. In the capital alone, more than 5,600 apartment buildings were left without heating following the Russian attack. Repair teams, all our energy companies, state enterprises, and municipal services will work day and night to stabilize the situation.”
