Zelensky: Russia’s access to the global market must be cut off
London, October 24 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia’s access to the global market must be severed, as this would bring President Vladimir Putin back to reality and greatly restrict the funding of Russia’s war machine.
Zelensky stated that before the “Coalition of the Willing” meeting, he held an online discussion with Keir Starmer, Mette Frederiksen, Dick Schoof, Mark Rutte, and Emmanuel Macron to coordinate steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities and protect critical energy infrastructure.
He added that, in addition to strengthening air defenses, they also discussed taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the PURL and SAFE initiatives.
Zelensky expressed great appreciation for the actions taken by all countries against Russia, saying: “And now, the United States has made another important decision: sanctions on two major Russian oil companies. Pressuring Russian oil is a tool to end the war, I am sure of it.”
He emphasized that Russia’s access to global markets must be cut off, as this would force Putin to face reality and significantly reduce the financial means of Russia’s war machine.
