Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky assessed the work of electronic warfare units in his message issued on the occasion of Electronic Warfare Forces Day. Zelensky said the work of soldiers serving in these units often goes unnoticed, but its results can be seen both on the front line and behind it.

Zelensky stated that servicemen of Ukraine’s Electronic Warfare Forces divert hundreds of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles away from cities and settlements every day, protect communications and help Ukrainian units remain less visible. Zelensky noted that electronic warfare units, acting together with other elements of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, are working to enable the country to carry out its tasks more effectively.

Zelensky also drew attention to the importance of the work of electronic warfare units amid the current shortage of interceptor systems, saying: “At a time when interceptors are insufficient, the work of our electronic warfare units, without exaggeration, protects the lives of thousands and thousands of Ukrainians whom Russian- and Iranian-made jet-powered ‘Shaheds’ are unable to reach.”

Thanking the electronic warfare units, Zelensky concluded his message by saying: “Thank you for the professional work you carry out every day for Ukraine, for your tireless innovation, and for constantly making the enemy’s plans more difficult. Happy Electronic Warfare Forces Day.”
