President Zelensky emphasized that the new U.S. sanctions against Russia’s oil giants are a clear indication that prolonging the war and spreading terror have consequences.

He stated that the sanctions are a fair and well-deserved step, adding: “It is precisely the pressure on Russia that will make peace possible, and sanctions are one of the key components of that pressure.”

Zelensky thanked U.S. President Donald Trump and the entire American team for this firm and well-considered decision, saying:

“This is a strong and much-needed message that aggression will not go unpunished. There is no alternative to a reliable and lasting peace. I thank everyone who understands this and works with us to defend lives and ensure justice.”
