Zelensky: Ukraine will increase supplies of long-range drones
Kyiv, October 6 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that supplies of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles to Ukrainian forces will be increased next year in order to strengthen their ability to respond to Russia’s attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he received reports at a Defense Staff meeting on electronic warfare capabilities and the use of these systems to protect infrastructure.
Zelensky said electronic warfare systems had made it possible to neutralize a significant portion of the Shahed-type drones used by Russia, adding that the Ukrainian Armed Forces and defense industry manufacturers had been tasked with expanding existing practices.
Zelensky said Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence had presented a report on Russia’s technological priorities for this year and next year, as well as the supply of critical components and equipment used in weapons production, and noted that new sanctions packages would be prepared based on this information.
Zelensky said Defense Intelligence would submit its proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Security and Defense Council, adding that efforts were continuing to coordinate sanctions across the jurisdictions of partner countries.
Zelensky said the key tasks regarding the supply of long-range drones to Ukrainian forces next year had also been set, with the main criterion being the creation of sufficient capacity to respond to Russia’s attacks.
