Zelensky: We are ready to provide Romania with any necessary support
Kyiv, May 29 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned Russia's drone attacks targeting Odesa and Romania.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need to increase international pressure on Russia.
Drawing attention to the geographic scope of the attacks and the civilian targets, Zelensky said: "Last night, the Russians deliberately attacked our southern region of Odesa, which borders Romania. It was another cynical attack against civilian infrastructure in our cities and waters, targeting civilian container ships."
Referring to the damage in Romania and expressing support, Zelensky stated: "One of the drones – essentially a 'Shahed' equivalent – also struck an ordinary residential building in Romania. We wish the injured a speedy recovery. Under these circumstances, we are ready to provide Romania with any necessary support."
Pointing to the importance of economic sanctions, Zelensky concluded: "We trust that the European Union's new sanctions measures against Russia will be truly strong and will make Russia feel that its attacks result in significant losses for itself. That would be fair. Thanks to everyone who helps protect life."
