Zelensky: We are waiting for Russia's response on the ceasefire
Kyiv, May 10 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said they have proposed the ceasefire to start on Monday, May 12, and are awaiting a response from Russia.
Zelensky stated that following the summit in Kyiv, he had a conversation with United States President Donald Trump.
He emphasized that they share a common stance, saying: “An immediate, full, and unconditional ceasefire is needed for at least 30 days. We propose it to start on Monday, May 12. We are waiting for Russia's response.”
Zelensky added that this proposal has been on the table since the talks in Saudi Arabia, originally put forward by the United States: “The best moment for diplomacy will be after the ceasefire begins. Ukraine is ready for meetings and negotiations in any format.”
