Syrian authorities told the state news agency SANA that security forces discovered two improvised explosive devices during field operations. The bombs exploded while preparations were underway to defuse them.
A preliminary investigation found that one of the explosives had been hidden inside a parked vehicle, while the other had been concealed in a roadside garbage container near the tourism directorate building. The investigation is ongoing.
