Al Thani holds phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi
Doha, July 9 (Hibya) - Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to a statement issued by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the conversation, the latest developments regarding the military tensions between the United States and Iran over the past two days were discussed.
Prime Minister Al Thani stated that, despite the relatively calm atmosphere in the region and ongoing de-escalation efforts, the State of Qatar condemns and rejects the attacks targeting commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
He stressed that such actions undermine trust, threaten international maritime security, and harm efforts to reinforce regional stability.
The Qatari Prime Minister also underlined that all parties must remain committed to dialogue and diplomacy in order to ensure regional security, preserve the gains achieved, and enhance stability. Al Thani reiterated his call on all parties to implement the provisions previously agreed upon under the memorandum of understanding.
