Aliyev and U.S. President Trump meet in Davos
Davos, January 22 (Hibya) – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed the development of bilateral relations and regional peace processes during his meeting with United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump in Davos.
According to a statement from the Azerbaijani Presidency, President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Davos. During the meeting, the leaders expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations in various fields following President Donald Trump’s return to office.
The sides emphasized President Donald Trump’s historic role in facilitating the agreements reached in Washington on August 8 last year, aimed at advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. President Ilham Aliyev referred to the steps taken toward normalizing relations between the two countries and stated that peace in the region has already been achieved.
Aliyev noted that this situation has also been reflected in trade relations, pointing to the export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia and the transit of imported grain to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. The presidents also exchanged views on the future prospects of bilateral relations and underlined the importance of mutual visits and contacts at various levels to further deepen cooperation.
