Araghchi and Pinto held talks
Tehran, September 7 (Hibya) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyid Abbas Araghchi, and Venezuela’s Foreign Minister, Iván Gil Pinto, discussed the United States’ activities in the Caribbean and bilateral relations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Pinto spoke by phone about developments in the Caribbean and relations between the two countries.
Pinto highlighted the growing illegal threats of the United States against Venezuela and presented a report on the current situation in the region.
The Venezuelan minister stressed his country’s determination to defend independence, national sovereignty, and the right to self-determination, expressing hope that BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa – and South American states will take a stand against U.S. hostile actions.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi criticized the United States’ unilateral and coercive actions against other countries, saying that this violated the United Nations Charter and posed a serious threat to international peace and security.
Araghchi declared that Iran stands in solidarity with and supports the people of Venezuela in the face of U.S. bullying.
