Costa criticized Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, saying: “Speaking of peace while intensifying bombings and targeting government buildings and homes – this is Putin’s understanding of ‘peace’.”

Costa emphasized that it was Russia that started the war and chose to continue it.

He stated that Ukraine’s defense must be strengthened and that pressure on Russia must be increased through additional sanctions in coordination with allies.

Costa added: “My thoughts are with the victims, the wounded, and their families. The strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people continue to inspire us all.”
