Asia-Pacific markets start the final week of the year on a mixed note
Istanbul, Dec. 29 (Hibya) – Indexes across Asia-Pacific markets traded mixed on Monday as investors kicked off the final trading week of the year.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 0.55%, while the Topix lost 0.26%. South Korea’s Kospi rose 0.62% and the Kosdaq gained 0.19%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 0.7%, while mainland China’s CSI 300 was flat. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 slipped 0.21%.
Spot silver prices retreated to $77 an ounce after reaching a new record above $80. Experts said the recent rally in silver was driven by speculative buying and ongoing supply tightness.
U.S. stock futures were flat at the Asian market open.
