In Australia, the ASX 200 index rose 0.45 percent to 9,019.00 points. In China, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.43 percent to reach 3,958.188 points.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index rose 0.41 percent to 64,587.61 points, while India's NIFTY 50 index climbed 0.40 percent to 24,009.90 points.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index (HSI) closed the day at 25,317.49 points, posting a limited increase of 0.02 percent.
