Australian FM Wong: We call on all parties to return to a ceasefire
Canberra, April 24 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong said that Australia has joined the UK, France, and Germany in calling on Israel to immediately allow the rapid and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Minister Wong announced that Australia supports the call by the UK, France, and Germany for Israel to enable the immediate and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Calling on all parties to return to a ceasefire, Wong said: “Civilians and humanitarian workers must be protected. The Palestinian Islamic Movement must release all hostages, and aid must flow.”
UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy earlier stated that Israel has completely blocked humanitarian aid to Gaza for over 50 days, adding:
“This is totally unacceptable. Vital supplies are running out, and Palestinians face the risk of famine. Together with France and Germany, we urge Israel to immediately resume the flow of aid.”
