According to a statement from the Presidency, President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting in Beijing with Song Hailiang, Chairman of China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited.

During the meeting, it was noted that the company is currently carrying out several projects in Azerbaijan. It is the contractor for a 1-gigawatt offshore wind energy mega project in the Caspian Sea and has also invested in solar and other projects in the Fuzuli region.

Song Hailiang presented his company’s proposals for cooperation with Azerbaijan on energy corridors.

Aliyev emphasized the priority and strategic importance of the partnership with China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited.

There was an exchange of views on a long-term joint energy planning project. A document related to this project was signed during President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to China.
