Baghaei: The chronic immunity granted to Israel must come to an end
Tehran, October 25 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that the latest opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Palestine once again highlighted the fact that the Israeli regime continues to “massively” violate every norm of international humanitarian law.
Baghaei noted that the Court’s opinion reaffirmed that the Israeli regime is obliged to meet the basic needs of Palestinians living under occupation, including providing essential goods for their survival, and that it must not obstruct their delivery.
He added: “The Court reminded that, under international law, starvation must not be used as a method of warfare. The ICJ has once again issued a clear opinion reiterating that the occupation of Palestinian territories is ‘illegal’ and must come to an end. The Israeli regime has persistently opposed all these principles and rules.”
Baghaei concluded, “The chronic immunity recognized for Israel by its supporters and defenders must be brought to an end.”
