Baghaei said that the U.S.'s addiction to "pressure and bullying" once again targets a sovereign nation determined to exercise its right to self-determination and to preserve its independence and dignity.

He noted that as a continuation of the criminal economic blockade against Cuba, the U.S. has imposed a new series of sanctions on the Cuban people and added:

“We openly condemn these inhumane practices that violate international law and adversely affect the basic human rights of the Cuban people. Such unjust and illegal unilateral coercive measures will never weaken the Cuban people’s and their leaders’ resolve to resist American hegemonic whims.”
