President Zelensky announced that he held a meeting with the Ukrainian army and the Minister of Defense.

He said that together with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, they discussed the situation in key defense areas, particularly in the directions of Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy border regions.

“We see the enemy’s intentions and attempts to advance their offensive operations, and we believe that it is crucial that each of these attempts is thwarted thanks to our troops' resilience and active defense. The Russian army has fallen far short of its command’s expectations this summer. Our troops will continue to eliminate the occupiers and will do everything possible to bring the war onto Russian soil. We are preparing new long-range strikes.”

Zelensky emphasized that they would respond firmly to every Russian attack: “The Commander-in-Chief reported that the Russian killers who took the life of a one-year-old child in the Kherson region were rightfully eliminated.”

He also stated that he had a meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal: “The government has prepared updates on state support for our people. The modernization of birth-related payments and support for mothers in the first years after birth is in the final approval stage. The Cabinet of Ministers will announce the details tomorrow.”

Zelensky added that the “School Start Package” initiative is being implemented: “This year, about 180,000 Ukrainian families will receive funds from the state to prepare their children for school.”
