Brussels, August 27 (Hibya) - Member of the European Parliament Tom Berendsen said the European Union's (EU) security, competitiveness and institutional structure need to be strengthened, stating that the Union is at a historic turning point.
Member of the European Parliament Tom Berendsen said the European Union's (EU) security, competitiveness and institutional structure need to be strengthened.
In his speech on Europe, Berendsen said the EU must take greater responsibility for its security and increase its competitiveness. Noting that reforms should create a stronger and more effective Union, Berendsen also called for the protection of Europe's shared values.
Berendsen said, “The EU is at a historic turning point,” advocating for a more responsible, secure, competitive and effective European Union.
