Berendsen: The International Criminal Court must carry out its mandate without interference
Amsterdam, July 14 (Hibya) – Dutch Member of the European Parliament Tom Berendsen said that the Netherlands, as the host country and a State Party to the Rome Statute, stands behind the International Criminal Court (ICC) and its staff.
Member of the European Parliament Tom Berendsen stated that, as a State Party to the Rome Statute, the Netherlands stands behind the ICC and its staff.
In his statement, Berendsen stressed that international courts must be able to carry out their duties without any interference.
Berendsen said, "As the host country and a State Party to the Rome Statute, the Netherlands stands behind the International Criminal Court and its staff."
Highlighting the importance of the independent application of international law, Berendsen added, "International courts must be able to perform their duties without any interference."
