Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez announced that he had presented the national flag to athletes Leyanis Perez and Luis Orta on behalf of the 504 athletes who will represent Cuba at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

Diaz-Canel Bermudez said the athletes had continued their training despite power outages and economic difficulties caused by the U.S. embargo on Cuba.

Praising the athletes' determination and perseverance, Diaz-Canel Bermudez wished the Cuban delegation success at the Games and expressed confidence that they would represent their country in the best possible way.
