Budrys: I call on the IPC to reconsider its decision
Vilnius, February 18 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys criticized the decision of the International Paralympic Committee to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under their own flags.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys, in a statement shared on social media, described the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) decision to permit Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in the Paralympics under their own flags as “disgraceful.”
Budrys said, “Tanks are advancing under those flags. Russia, with the help of Belarus, continues to destroy homes in Ukraine, target critical infrastructure, abduct children, and torture people. We cannot pretend that this is insignificant. I call on the IPC to reconsider its decision.”
