Bulgaria honors German Federal Police liaison officer Meinert
Sofia, July 29 (Hibya) – Acting Secretary General of the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Lyubomir Nikolov, presented the Ministry of Interior’s second-degree “Courage and Merit” honorary award to Michael Meinert, the German Federal Police liaison officer in Bulgaria, who successfully completed his term of duty.

During the ceremony, Meinert was thanked for his contributions to strengthening cooperation between Bulgaria and Germany, particularly in the field of border security. Michael Meinert expressed his satisfaction with the trust-based cooperation established with the Bulgarian authorities over the past four years and voiced his confidence that the partnership in combating illegal migration and sharing operational information would continue.

Chief Commissioner Nikolov also wished the new German Federal Police liaison officer, Franz Weber, success in his new assignment and emphasized his confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow stronger.
