Canada to host international conference on Ukraine
Ottawa, August 22 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that the second International Conference on the return of Ukrainian children, detained civilians and prisoners of war will be held in Canada.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anand stated that the second International Conference on the return of Ukrainian children, detained civilians and prisoners of war will soon be held in Canada.
Anand said she held talks with her counterparts in Norway and Ukraine as part of preparations for the conference. Foreign ministers, government representatives and civil society organizations from different countries around the world are expected to participate in the conference.
Anand stated that the priority of the efforts is to accelerate the return of Ukrainians and support the rehabilitation and reintegration into society of those who return to their country.
It was stated that Canada, together with Ukraine, Norway and other countries, will work to strengthen international coordination, maintain commitment to international law and increase pressure on Russia to fulfill its obligations.
