Cassis: Switzerland will remain committed to the Helsinki Principles
Vienna, 4 December (Hibya) – Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis announced that his country will lead the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) while remaining committed to the Helsinki Principles.
Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis stated that as Switzerland prepares to assume the 2026 OSCE Chairmanship, it will remain faithful to the Helsinki Principles.
Discussing the upcoming work, Cassis said: “Pursuing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, defending universal norms, strengthening multilateral security cooperation, protecting human rights and democratic institutions, and ensuring the OSCE’s operational capacity.”
Highlighting the need for renewed engagement, Cassis added: “In times of rising tensions, we need courage, responsibility, and a renewed commitment to dialogue. Switzerland is ready to do its part.”
