European Council President Antonio Costa held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Providing information about his visit, Costa said: "I am pleased to make my first visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the shadow of the recent unjust attacks the country has faced."

Appreciating Saudi Arabia’s role, Costa said: "I conveyed the EU’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its people. We highly appreciate Saudi Arabia’s role in ensuring stability and its efforts to promote dialogue and diplomacy."

Referring to regional peace efforts and international agreements, Costa added: "It is crucial to maintain the momentum of the US-Iran ceasefire agreement and for all parties to act in good faith to reach a sustainable and comprehensive agreement."
