Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

European Council President António Costa said the European Union stands in solidarity with Spain in response to the irregular migration pressure in Ceuta.

In his statement, Costa said, “I stand in solidarity with Spain in the current situation of illegal migration in Ceuta.”

Recalling that third-country nationals arriving in Ceuta do not have the right to move freely to mainland Spain or the rest of the Schengen Area, Costa stated: “Spain’s firm approach and accelerated return procedures demonstrate our determination to protect our external borders, combat illegal migration, and dismantle human smuggling networks.”

Costa also welcomed Spain’s close cooperation with Morocco, adding that he would remain in close contact with the Spanish authorities in the coming days.
