Costa: We will take the necessary steps to protect the International Criminal Court
Brussels, October 9 (Hibya) - European Council President António Costa said they regretted the United States’ decision to impose institutional sanctions on the International Criminal Court and would take appropriate steps to protect the court.

Costa said they regretted the United States’ decision to impose institutional sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), adding that they would carefully analyze the situation and take the necessary steps to protect the court.
Costa stressed that the United States’ decision to delay the entry into force of its latest measures creates an opportunity for dialogue, adding that the European Union would continue supporting the ICC and the Rome Statute system through political, diplomatic, financial and operational tools.
