Islamabad, June 15 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

According to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussion focused on the understanding reached between the United States and Iran, as well as regional developments.
Dar thanked the Italian side for its support and appreciation of Pakistan’s mediation efforts. The statement also noted that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives.
Both sides emphasized the importance of implementing the U.S.-Iran understanding and agreed on the need to continue international efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region, particularly in Lebanon.
The ministers also discussed the positive impact of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open on global energy supplies, trade, and the world economy.
The two ministers expressed satisfaction with the positive course of relations between Pakistan and Italy and welcomed the upcoming signing of a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic passports.
At the end of the conversation, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest and agreed to maintain regular contacts.
