Death toll in Lebanon rises to 357
Beirut, April 11 (Hibya) - Lebanon’s Health Ministry shared updated figures on the toll from Israeli attacks that took place on Wednesday.
According to CCTV, the Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health said the figures are preliminary, as rescue teams continue efforts to recover bodies from under the rubble.
The statement said that in Wednesday’s attacks, one of the deadliest days for the country, the death toll rose to 357 and the number of injured reached 1,223.
On the military front, Israel escalated its operations against Hezbollah and launched a ground invasion from three fronts with the aim of reaching the Litani River. However, Hisham Jaber, head of the Center for Middle East Strategic Studies, said Israeli forces had been unable to advance more than seven kilometers despite a 35-day ground operation.
Jaber said, “Israeli forces were unable to advance more than seven kilometers on the eastern, central, and western fronts despite a 35-day ground operation. We believe the reason for this is that they encountered countless obstacles and suffered unprecedented losses in the history of their conflicts with Lebanon.”
