Diplomatic meeting between Tanzania and Singapore in Mauritius
Port Louis, April 12 (Hibya) - Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahmoud Thabit Kombo and Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Social and Family Development Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim met in Mauritius במסגרת the 9th Indian Ocean Conference to discuss trade and investment relations.
Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Mahmoud Thabit Kombo held a bilateral meeting with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Social and Family Development Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim במסגרת the 9th Indian Ocean Conference held in Port Louis, Mauritius.
During the meeting, the parties discussed enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and sustainable development. They emphasized the need to transform long-standing diplomatic relations into concrete economic outcomes.
Tanzania expressed its desire to attract more investment from Singapore in areas such as ports, transportation, infrastructure, technology, and climate change mitigation. It was noted that Singapore’s experience in port management and economic systems could contribute to Tanzania’s development goals.
The Singaporean side stated that they are ready for technical cooperation and knowledge sharing in areas such as innovation, trade facilitation, agriculture, food security, and sustainable development.
Regional and global issues such as maritime security, global trade, and the blue economy were also discussed. The parties agreed to continue contacts on international platforms.
