'Doha Negotiator of the Year' Award Presented to Recipient
Geneva, June 2 (Hibya) – The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva held an official ceremony to present the "Doha Negotiator of the Year" award to Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The award was granted by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to international negotiation and mediation.
Dr. Hend bint Abdalrahman Al Muftah, the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, stated that the 2024 award holds special significance for the State of Qatar, and was announced during the Doha World Negotiation Day, organized in collaboration by UNITAR, ADN Group, and the Doha Forum.
She added that the ceremony was held within the framework of Qatar’s commitment to promoting a culture of negotiation, mediation, and peaceful resolution, noting that these principles are fundamental pillars of Qatar’s foreign policy.
She reaffirmed that Qatar will continue to be an effective international partner in supporting mediation and peaceful solutions.
