Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten met with residents living near the refugee reception center in the village of Goutum.

Jetten stated that there had been concern and unrest in the area during the period when the asylum seeker center was being established, emphasizing the importance of openly discussing these feelings.

Jetten noted that neighborhood consultation meetings had been organized by the Dutch Reception Agency for Asylum Seekers (COA) and the municipality, where both supporters and opponents of the project came together to share their views and concerns.

Prime Minister Jetten stressed the importance of involving the local community in decision-making processes, carefully listening to residents, and maintaining strong communication among all relevant parties.
