Estonia emphasizes European security and support for Ukraine
Tallinn, May 16 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna discussed strengthening Europe’s security architecture, NATO’s eastern flank, and support for Ukraine during the Lennart Meri Conference. Tsahkna stressed that the EU enlargement process is indispensable for European security.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, together with Thomas Röwekamp, made assessments on Europe’s security architecture on the second day of the Lennart Meri Conference.
Tsahkna highlighted Germany’s contribution to strengthening NATO’s eastern flank, the need to increase the cost of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and the continued support for Ukraine.
Emphasizing that Europe’s security cannot be separated from the European Union’s enlargement process, Tsahkna stated that accession negotiations with all candidate countries, including Ukraine, should be advanced.
Tsahkna noted that ensuring common security and prosperity depends on these processes and pointed to the importance of Europe acting in unity.
