EU prepares new sanctions against Russia
Brussels, July 13 (Hibya) - European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced that 250 individuals and entities will be added to the sanctions list as part of the EU's new package of sanctions against Russia.
The European Union is preparing to expand its new package of sanctions against Russia.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stated that, under the existing measures and the upcoming 21st sanctions package, 250 individuals and entities will be added to the EU's sanctions regime against Russia.
Kallas said the decisions represent the most extensive individual sanctions adopted since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
She also noted that the new package includes the EU's most comprehensive cyber sanctions package to date and targets the financial structures supporting Russia's war capabilities.
"Every measure weakens Moscow's ability to wage war," Kallas said.
The statement was made ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
