EU sends another 43 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Venezuela
Brussels, Aug. 4 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Crisis Management and Equality Hadja Lahbib announced that the fifth aid flight had arrived in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, under the European Union (EU) Humanitarian Air Bridge, and that another 43 tonnes of humanitarian supplies would be delivered to partners in the region.
European Commissioner for Crisis Management and Equality Hadja Lahbib said that humanitarian needs in Venezuela remain significant and provided an update on the European Union's relief efforts in the country.
In a post on social media, Lahbib said that a total of 214 tonnes of humanitarian aid had so far been delivered to Venezuela under the EU Humanitarian Air Bridge.
Lahbib said the fifth aid aircraft had landed in Caracas, bringing another 43 tonnes of medical supplies as well as shelter and healthcare equipment.
She noted that the supplies would be delivered to people in need through European Union partners working on the ground and emphasized that humanitarian needs in Venezuela remain substantial.
