Istanbul, July 29 (Hibya) – The euro and the British pound posted modest gains against the U.S. dollar in currency markets, while the dollar weakened against the Japanese yen.

The euro/U.S. dollar exchange rate rose 0.08 percent to 1.1399, while the pound/U.S. dollar exchange rate gained 0.02 percent to 1.3295.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate traded at 47.3837, up 0.03 percent, while the U.S. dollar/Japanese yen exchange rate fell 0.22 percent to 163.45.
The U.S. dollar/Swiss franc exchange rate declined 0.15 percent, while the U.S. dollar/Canadian dollar exchange rate fell 0.11 percent.
The euro/Japanese yen exchange rate slipped 0.11 percent, while the Australian dollar/U.S. dollar exchange rate declined 0.36 percent and the New Zealand dollar/U.S. dollar exchange rate edged down 0.02 percent.
The euro/British pound exchange rate traded 0.06 percent higher at 0.8572.
