Residents of Gaza City visited markets on Tuesday to prepare for Ramadan, shopping at roadside stalls set up among heavily damaged buildings.

As people walked through streets filled with rubble, shopkeepers sold bread, nuts, and dried fruits.

Many residents said rising prices, cash shortages, and widespread destruction have changed the atmosphere compared to previous years.

Gazans are welcoming the holy month of Ramadan in Maisoon al-Barbarawi’s tent in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Simple decorations hang from the worn ceiling of the tent, while colorful drawings on the fabric walls were prepared by camp residents to celebrate the arrival of the blessed month.
