Ghebreyesus: Global solidarity is needed to end the cycle of despair in Gaza
Geneva, November 9 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized that ending the cycle of despair in Gaza requires global solidarity, enhanced humanitarian access, and commitment to lasting peace.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus thanked Egypt for its continued support for the people of Gaza.
He noted that the WHO, in collaboration with Egypt and other countries, will continue to evacuate patients from Gaza in need of urgent treatment and will support the rebuilding of the region’s destroyed health infrastructure.
In his statement, Ghebreyesus said:
“Ending the cycle of violence and despair requires global solidarity, increased humanitarian access, and above all, commitment to lasting peace.”
