WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Ghebreyesus said the following:

"We do not need a famine declaration to know that people in Gaza are already dying of hunger, getting sick, and losing their lives — while food and medicine are just minutes away across the border. Today's analysis shows that unless immediate access to food and essential needs is provided, the situation will worsen, more lives will be lost, and famine will follow. We demand the immediate lifting of the aid blockade, the release of all hostages, and the declaration of a ceasefire!"
