New York, March 31 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reacted to the attack on personnel of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) operating in southern Lebanon.

Expressing his condolences to the families of the victims and to Indonesia, Guterres said: "I wish the injured personnel a full and speedy recovery. This is the second fatal incident within 24 hours. On Sunday, another peacekeeper lost his life in a separate incident."
Guterres emphasized that attacks on peacekeeping personnel constitute serious violations of international law, adding: "Attacks against peacekeepers are grave violations of international humanitarian law. These attacks must stop. No one serving peace should lose their life."
