Guterres: Urgent climate action is needed
Washington, June 2 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for global climate action, stating that El Niño is highly likely to have a significant impact in the coming months.

Guterres stressed the need to end dependence on fossil fuels, accelerate the transition to renewable energy, protect the most vulnerable populations, and strengthen early warning systems.
He also called for stronger measures under the framework of the United Nations to combat climate change.
