Jerusalem, July 7 (Hibya) - Israeli President Isaac Herzog emphasized the legacy of the country's former leaders during a state memorial ceremony honoring deceased Israeli presidents and prime ministers.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog delivered a speech at the state memorial ceremony held for Israel's late presidents and prime ministers.
In his remarks, Herzog referred to the role played by former President Yitzhak Navon and former Prime Minister Levi Eshkol in the founding of Israel, saying that nation-building is shaped not only by institutions and infrastructure but also by the bonds between people, trust, and a sense of belonging.
During the ceremony, memorial awards were presented to individuals and organizations working to preserve the memory and legacy of Israel's presidents and prime ministers.
Herzog highlighted Eshkol's approach of bringing together people with differing views, as well as Navon's emphasis on listening, respect, and fostering a sense of belonging among all segments of society.
