Herzog: We must pass the memory of the Holocaust on to future generations
Tel Aviv, July 26 (Hibya) - Israeli President Isaac Herzog said that the number of Holocaust survivors is steadily declining, stressing that preserving the memory of the Holocaust and its historical truths for future generations is a shared responsibility.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog delivered remarks at a meeting held to commemorate Holocaust survivors.
Herzog said he met with Holocaust survivors, researchers, educators, and public representatives to discuss how the memory and lessons of the Holocaust can be passed on to future generations when there are no survivors left alive.
Herzog said that the personal story of former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak deeply moved those attending the meeting and stressed that combating Holocaust denial and historical distortion in the age of artificial intelligence is a moral responsibility toward both past and future generations.
