IDF: Attempt to smuggle weapons from Egypt to Israel foiled
Jerusalem, May 1 (Hibya) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that an attempt to smuggle weapons from Egypt into Israel was thwarted.
According to the IDF statement, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attempting to transfer weapons from Egyptian territory to the Paran Brigade area in Israel was detected.
The statement noted that the UAV was downed by Israeli forces: “IDF troops who arrived at the scene identified a drone carrying 10 M16 rifles. The confiscated weapons were handed over to security forces for further processing.”
